Mariachi Michoacan de Mario Fernandez was founded as a professional group in November 1986. In its almost 30 years of faithfully performing this traditional Mexican music, Mariachi Michoacan has been composed of talented musicians who are passionate about their craft and the heritage that mariachi music and groups represent. Through the years, the group has had the privilege to include members who are professional musicians in other genres and also an excellent ensemble of vocals and instrumentation.

Mariachi Michoacan has always been passionate about keeping alive the traditional values of the mariachi and the music performed by this cultural icon of Mexican culture. The group is proud of its a strong dedication to professionalism and willingness to perform at any level. While maintaining a commitment to the tradition of the mariachi, the group has also focused on staying up to date with the music that has continued to be composed in this genre. Mariachi Michoacan has an extensive repertoire, which coupled with the group’s professionalism has made it one of the leading and best established mariachi groups in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

While Mariachi Michoacan is the perfect group to provide musical entertainment to such events as weddings, birthday parties, quinceañeras, corporate events, concerts, and religious events, the group also has had the privilege to share the stage with famous recording artists. Mariachi Michoacan has performed for Pepe Aguilar, Cristian Castro, Paquita La Del Barrio, Lucha Villa, Jose Jose, Felipe Arriaga, Juan Valentin, Nelson Ned, Vicente Fernandez Jr., Tony Melendez of Conjunto Primavera and others. Mariachi Michoacan also has won mariachi competitions throughout Texas.
